Scripture:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
- Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NIV)
Observation:
Do you really believe God has a plan for our lives? We all have "stuff" that we deal with in our individual lives. We often will ask the question, "How can this possibly be part of God's plan? REALLY?” then we waste so much time and energy lamenting the situation instead of, simply turning it over to God and letting Him guide us through it. As a kid, my parents would tell me that challenges build character. Well, I didn't want to hear that. I didn't want to be a "character". But I found that statement to be true and endeavored to make the most of it.
Application:
Question: How can God use this situation in my life and how can it be used to help someone else?
Challenge: Through this time of fasting and journaling, don't do all the talking. Sit and meditate on truly hearing the voice of God and write down what He speaks to you.
Prayer:
