In a season where there is chaos and uncertainty, Life Community Center strives to be the light for families when they are not sure where to turn. Whether it is picking up a box of food if money is tight or applying for a new career in the healthcare field, our goal is to provide hope when there is none. God’s word states we shouldn’t do life alone and our calling is to walk beside families and individuals that are struggling. Our team is here to pray, guide, and assist in believing that needs will be met.
Our partners across the central Pasco region have a common goal of moving people further than where they started. We engage in conversations with other nonprofits, work closely with businesses and schools, and strive to meet them in the middle. Many times, we will team together to pay a utility bill, stop an eviction, or pass resources to those that can benefit most.
We are also seeking those who can carry the message of love to the community through a smile, a hug, or a testimony. The story of grace goes beyond the impact God has had on your individual life. Others need to hear how you made it when things were tough and be encouraged by God’s faithfulness. If you are willing to walk alongside those that God sends our way, you are invited to join us at Life Community Center.
Every week, we partner with Feeding Tampa Bay, Save-A-Lot, Costco, Publix and Children’s Baptist Home to provide thousands of pounds of food to those in need. Over 550 families pick up a box full of fresh produce, meat, and groceries. With over 60 volunteers and partners, we are able to provide balanced nutrition to over 4000 individuals on a consistent basis.

Our stay in school program focuses on the importance of graduation from high school. Partnering with parents, schools, and the community, we expose our young people to the benefits of graduating and moving on to college or a technical trade. There are trends where family members drop out of school or never receive their diploma or GED. Our program focuses on setting goals and exploring career choices, which build the foundation for success. We currently have 14 youth registered in Raptime that are in middle school and have recently opened it to elementary-aged children.
Our heart to help our community starts by knowing the members residing in the area. Weekly, we provide a hot lunch giving us the opportunity to find out how life is going for those in our community. If there are needs for resources that are uncovered during conversations we attempt to meet needs for attendees. For example, when there are transportation challenges, we have taken members to court, counseling and to medical appointments. Taking the time to hear their vision and goals for life helps us understand how to support them better.
There are a number of events that occur at LCC during the year. Every fall, we help families obtain socks, shoes, and underwear at the beginning of school. At Thanksgiving, we collect food from Life Church to pack over 400 boxes of Thanksgiving dinners that are handed out, including a turkey. In November, we begin the launch for Imagine Christmas, where we partner with parents and our congregation to provide quality Christmas gifts to children.
Our philosophy is always to offer a hand up to those who are struggling. We know emergencies happen so a program is offered to fund utilities, rent/mortgage, auto needs’ etc, in exchange for applicant’s time. For example, if we pay a $180 electric bill, in return, we ask the applicant to join us in our Food Ministry or seasonal event for at least 18 hours within a 3 month period. This partnership ensures our ministry continues to the community and allows the applicant to build relationships with us.
